Thursday’s Online Book Club: Six Macaques

I am thrilled to have this story now available through Amazon Kindle and so grateful to Carol Lang for caring for these six amazing Macaque monkeys who graced our lives in the TTouch office under the watchful eyes of Carol for many years.

51X03CWPt6L._SY346_The story is a collection of my newsletter reports from my first interview with the Sloan Kettering veterinarians in charge of the monkeys to the last day of Gaia’s life when a group of schoolchildren sang her a farewell song. We were constantly told by various labs around the country that Pig-tail Macaques were dangerous and could not be rehabbed.

The stories of how Gaia, the oldest of the six, raised four kittens is a testament to the possibilities of interspecies connections.

Join Elinor Silverstein and me for an hour long “blast to the past” for our fifth book club. If you can’t make it to this Zoom discussion you can replay it at your leisure later, on YouTube. I’ll post the link here.

Aloha from Hawaii, Linda
